Students Become Great Readers and Informed Students!

My Project

My 4th graders are at the perfect age for learning about the bigger world and how we affect it by what we do. As we learn about the problems in our world we also look deeply at possible solutions? My students are curious and motivated. Fourth grade curriculum supports these bigger questions and now I need a great resource that will connect my students to the information and help them to think about possible solutions.

Scholastic News Magazine is geared for 4th graders, and exposes them to informational text that is current and wonderfully interesting.

My past students loved Scholastic magazine. When they read Scholastic Magazine, they learn how to gain information from reading informational text, learn how to obtain information from text features, and write about opinions on thought -provoking questions.

But, I really need help. Unfortunately, this year, our school does not have the funding to get Scholastic Magazine for us. I need a subscription of thirty 4th grade Scholastic News Magazines. These materials will help motivate my students and expand their thinking about real world situations.
