My Project

The 2023-2024 school year was the first year our students had a hand in making our yearbook. Taking pictures is an extremely important part of the process. This year we relied on the generosity of club parents allowing us to use their cameras. For many reasons this is not an ideal situation. If yearbook club is going to continue to grow and become a cornerstone at our school, it is imperative that students have access to a camera that can stay at the school.

Having a camera consistently at the school will allow students to check out the camera during school hours to capture their peers more organically.

It will also allow them easier access when covering after school activities such as sports games or dances. There’s no chance of a camera being forgotten at home or being unavailable due to it being used by its owner.

But why this camera? It’s so expensive! While there are cheaper options, students will be shooting in diverse lighting situations and having a camera that can meet the demands of the environment is a top priority. Longevity is also a priority, so getting a newer model with higher specs will give us more bang for our buck than an older, lower priced model.

Mrs. Niki will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 21.
