My Project

I recently asked my students what items THEY would want for our classroom if it was up to them. As I would expect from a class of 24 third graders, the answers covered a vast spectrum of items. However, their answers were thoughtful and well reasoned, and led to the hodge-podge list you see here.

The most commonly requested items were actually books!

This project includes several series of books that students would like to add to our classroom library. Students also requested more comfortable seating and new pillows for reading. Additionally, they really wanted some new items for our social skills building time, including play-dough, painting pens, replacements for well loved games and puzzles, and building kits. They also requested snacks, which we currently only have on occasion as we rely on family donations to make snack time happen.

I have also added several different types of science and engineering kits that reflect our upcoming unit on forces and motions, but that will sure to be a hit year round.
