My Project

At our school, students visit the Wellness Center when their big emotions make it hard for them to concentrate and learn in the classroom environment. In the Wellness Center, we give them a few minutes, as well as available resources such as kinetic sand, art, mazes, etc. to help them regulate their big emotions so that they can be ready to return to the classroom and engage in the teacher's lesson. When we have applicable tools and resources ready for students to use, students are better able to regulate their emotions and learn how to be effective learners in the classroom setting.
