Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I plan to use the relaxation area to help my students improve their ability to focus in class, grades, and school attendance. On the most recent progress report card, about 16% of my students did not meet standards. And about a third of them did not meet the 95% attendance goal rate either.

The requested items will provide a calming zone to help my students improve their mindset through a variety of wellness activities such as breathing exercises, managing their emotions, art therapy, and more!

My students are special because they are caring young men and women who want to do better for themselves; about half of them are seniors about to graduate. However, many of them find it challenging to balance school and work. Thus, learning how to cope with their feelings and emotions will give them the skills needed to succeed academically and beyond the school environment.
