Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to explore the world through science. They tackle challenging questions by using their creativity and imagination and by participating in experiments and scientific activities. The hands-on approach pushes their thinking and allows them to think beyond what can be read and written; they surely love learning through experiences. They take on new challenges every time they come into the classroom, but they don't always have the best resources to aid them.
This doesn't stop them, however.
Each individual brings their unique personalities, interests, and strengths to the class to make learning possible. They are full of energy, ideas, and are very interested in learning but the right resources may just make their experience more meaningful. During class, students use these diversities to engage in great conversations and lead to new ideas and deeper understanding. Thank you - 6th grade students of PS/MS 95.
My Project
As we march into new classroom adaptation this upcoming year, I want to make sure that I am ready, prepared, and motivated to start an irregular school year. Due to this, I want to positively impact student interest with many at-home hand-on experiences and social media use. One highly engaging project will be to create a weather station at school that would allow students to explore weather, climate, and broadcast it on social media. By implementing a weather station at school, my students will be highly engaged because they will gain precious and valuable experience that they can pursue later in life.
With this weather station, students can monitor the weather remotely and in person, analyze the information, and broadcast it on a social platform that we will create.
This year, I will continue to use the benefits of having a virtual space to promote learning so that every student can achieve their best. Thank you.
