Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students want to celebrate Earth Day by hosting a community STEAM celebration. We want to have a community cleanup, start a school recycling initiative, and lead Earth Day inspired arts and crafts, and activities for children. Our hope is to promote a sense of responsibility and collective action, showing that everyone can contribute to preserving the Earth.

Student voice matters, and my students want to use their voices to inspire their community to honor the planet and promote a sustainable future for generations to come.

We would love to provide a fun, educational, and empowering event for our community. Students will plan and lead an outdoor event, with a park clean up followed by activities, arts and crafts for children, provide snacks and prizes, and share their research. The most meaningful and authentic learning is when we allow students to pick a topic they care about and equip them with the necessary tools to teach others and showcase their learning.
