My Students

My students are amazing examples of resilience. With COVID, they have had to learn just as much as I have about new technology. They now have shortened days of school, leading to less instructional time, and have had insufficient knowledge acquisition. Despite their lack of sufficient time, the students have worked hard and learned an immense amount of new material. They are doing great, and have excellent motivation to finish the school year strong.

My Project

This project will benefit the students in many ways. Some of the resources chosen were picked to help remediate gaps in basic arithmetic including adding and subtracting. Students will be able to use the hands-on learning resources to gain adequate knowledge needed to move onto higher math concepts like fractions and word problems. The learning outcome for these students is for them to hit specific learning targets aligned with the common core pertaining to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Having mastered this content, they then can go on to learning higher-level thinking math problems like application word problems and fractions. This project will help them excel in reaching the end-of-year learning targets for 3rd grade.
