My Students
Our new high school has started a new course/program to help students investigate and learn the many careers available in technology. One of the core subjects these students are learning is computer/Chromebook repairs and general help desk skills. There are 7 students in this course this year, and we expect to grow each year. These students are excited to be learning something they are passionate about. I love that they are willing to give up lunch time to be in this class each day. We have to almost force them to go to lunch!
These students are excited to learn new skill sets, in various careers, to help them prepare for college and life after school.
The students are in need of a workbench to gain the skills needed to properly implement the repairs to the student Chromebooks in the school district. Based on how technology is now fused into nearly every industry, this course is a needed course.
My Project
A workbench is desperately needed. While they have the hand tools needed, (i.e., screwdrivers, etc.), the space is really in need of a workbench where they can actually do the repairs. With a professional workbench, we can simulate what working in a career repairing computer parts will be like.
With a workbench, the students can complete needed repairs to help the school district, while learning valuable tech skills.
Currently, they are having to use a folding table, where only one or two can work at a time.
Thank you for helping these students start on a career path after high school!
