Student Support

Help me give my students support with social-emotional learning through writing and mindfulness. The other items will help me teach both the students in my room and the students on Zoom while we are in hybrid.

My Students

My students are primarily students who are considered at-risk for not graduating. JDG, Jobs for Delaware Graduates, combines a curriculum that prepares students for success in a career with mentorship from the JDG teacher to support them in graduating and pursuing post-secondary education for the career of their choice. My students could become the statistics who've dropped out of school but JDG helps them stay engaged in their education while making plans for the future.

My Project

My students are dealing with not only the stress of their normal lives but the additional challenges of the pandemic. Some of my students will be in the classroom and others will be on Zoom going forward.

The pandemic time capsule journals will be used for my 11th and 12th grade students to use writing to process their experience and prepare to explain that experience in college and job applications.

The mindfulness workbooks will be used with 9th and 10th grade students to help them process the stress of this year. I am asking for a voice amplifier, x-pen, webcam, and a chair for me as I will need to teach primarily from behind the computer with students both in the class and online. This will allow me to set up a teaching station in the front of the room so I can interact with my online and in-class students. Finally, the TPT gift-card will allow me to purchase digital resources that can be used through our learning management system.
