My Students
I love that my students are determined, focused, and love learning. I do have students that need to always be moving when they learn. I have other students who need to hear the lessons and others who need to do the lessons by actions and moving.
I love when my students have the lightbulb moment.
It's when they understand a topic or example after not understanding things up to that point, mostly in my math. My students, even when they don't understand the math, do their best and end up actually enjoying the math!
I love that my students don't give up, and they keep working!
My Project
My students this year have sensory needs. Throughout the day they are always moving, tapping, or needing to do something, especially during instruction. This gets a little noisy. The students need these buddy bands so they can tap quietly and still listen to instruction. This will also help the students around them to be more successful and less distracted as well.
I am catching the wave in our classroom by becoming more technologically savvy.
Because my students do get distracted easily they will need headphones in our classroom. When they are doing math on the computer or through guided reading rotations they will headphones so they won't distract the people next to them. This will make the technology less distracting to the students around them.
With the STEM lab these will help the fast finishers in the classroom. After finishing their work they can always go back to my STEM lab and use their engineering and hands-on skills to create bridges and catapults. This will help grow their minds when the other students are still finishing their work!
