This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how eager my students are to learn about financial literacy and take ownership of their classroom bank accounts. They are engaged, curious, and excited to apply real-world financial skills in a hands-on way. Watching them develop responsibility, budgeting skills, and a deeper understanding of saving and spending is truly inspiring. Their enthusiasm for managing their own "money" in the classroom fosters a sense of independence and confidence that will serve them well beyond the school walls.

The resources I am requesting will provide my students with the tools they need to deepen their financial knowledge and make meaningful connections to real-world money management.

Items like the bungee chairs will provide an opportunity for flexible seating, as well as the snacks and fun items will provide opportunities for students to spend their bank account money weekly!

With interactive materials, engaging lessons, and practical activities, they will learn about saving, spending, earning interest, and making informed financial decisions. These resources will not only support their learning but also help them build lifelong skills that will empower them to make smart financial choices in the future.
