This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to tell you a little about my class. I work in the Social Emotional Transitioning program and we cater to children who have gone through some traumatic events and have emotional problems. Many of these kids go through food insecurity in their everyday life and we would love to ease their anxiety by providing them a healthy snack in school or even to take home. Also, some of our students have sensory issues that keep them from eating what the school provides for breakfast or lunch.
We would also love to show them some financial literacy by turning it into a "Student Store" where they would be able to buy extra snacks at the end of the day.
