Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school library is often bustling with activity during recess and lunch, and we have just expanded one of the most popular lunchtime clubs. Last year many of our students were very involved and engaged in our Tuesday sewing club, and at the end of the year, a group of 4th-graders approached me about starting their own club. They wanted to create a crochet club in conjunction with the sewing group, and initially, they brought all their own materials to share with other students.

It has been such a joy to watch our students organize and run this new crochet club, and this year, it is bigger and better than ever!

What started out as a sewing club is now our stitch club, where students can learn to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, and cross-stitch.

Not only will your donation help provide the supplies for many students to learn new skills, but you will also be supporting an incredible group of enthusiastic young leaders.
