My Students

A diverse group of kids comprises the elementary school I devote my time and heart to. Located near the beach in Southern California, our charmer of a school hosts children from an eclectic array of cultural backgrounds: Brazilian, Icelandic, Spanish, Sudanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese.

"There is nothing more unequal than the equal treatment of unequals." Thomas Jefferson recognized the value of differentiation, and personalizing the learning experience of each unique child is how I plan to create equity in my classroom.

My Project

Teaching kids from a computer screen is not easy. Help make distance learning more hands-on for my students.

Science experiments and engineering challenges are fun, no matter how remote they are!

But they can be very expensive and time-consuming.

My students miss the physical classroom where they could handle materials for making and experimenting. They miss the classroom tools used for scientific learning too.

Your donation will help me create STEM bags for each student to use at home. Binoculars, magnifying lenses, mini whiteboards, and an assortment of plastic animals need to be in their curious hands while students learn to classify animals in our first life science unit.
