Student Snackums!

Help me give my students highly desired snacks to keep their growing minds and bodies fed and norished. It is very difficult to focus and try to learn when you are hungry. Help me feed those grumbling bellies.

My Students

Our school is located in a small community in Northwestern New Mexico. Due to uncertainty in the oil and gas industry and COVID-19, many in our community, and our students' families, have experienced job loss, medical emergencies and financial hardship. Currently, all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch daily. The school works hard to make meals available to all families; remote and hybrid.

Regardless of the many challenges they may face at home, at school, hybrid or remote; I strive to provide the best possible environment and learning tools for my students.

My students deserve the very best and I work hard to give them every opportunity for success. Each and every one of my students has a unique and amazing personality, all different and entertaining in their own ways.

My Project

Many of the students in our district are from low income families. All students qualify for free lunches in our district and the majority of families take part in this program. Some families cannot afford to provide snacks for students to have throughout the day. The students that may bring snacks do not have enough for all students. By providing a snack to all students I can assure that all snacks are the same, all students are treated equally and there is no embarrasment over who has food and who does not.

Students struggle to focus when they are hungry.

By providing a free, highly desired snack to students they can try to focus on the learning at hand versus their grumbling tummies.
