My Project
All 30 of my 5th grade students are hard working, intelligent and eager to learn each day. The day starts at 8:00 with a small breakfast given to all students, and then we hit the ground running with reading, writing, and math instruction! Students in 5th grade this year were given the unfortunate time slot of 1:25 for lunch, but since recess is first, they're not actually eating until 1:40 every day! As you can imagine, the hunger pains (okay, I'm being A BIT dramatic) are getting in the way of their focus. This is where you come in.
When students are not wasting their brain power thinking about how hungry they are, they are able to use that brain power to have kinder social interactions, make better decisions, and stay focused for longer periods of time when working.
Most of our students do not bring in a daily snack and get hungry. Your donations of cookies, fruit snacks, pretzels, crackers, and granola bars will provide the opportunity for each student to receive a snack on a daily basis. These food items are a luxury for students that can not afford them on a regular basis in their household. These snacks will help the students maintain their energy and keep them alert and ready to learn throughout the rest of the day.
Supporting this campaign will fulfill the basic, necessary needs of our fifth graders and provide a positive boost to their learning. Thank you SO much in advance!
