Student Safety

My students need a wagon to help a specially abled classroom friend move to and from activities and safety drills or evacuations.

My Students

The students in our classroom family are hard working, eager to learn, and excited by new experiences and materials. We live in a rural community with little access to activities that urban areas provide. Our classroom family is made up of friends with diverse learning and physical abilities. Our specially abled friend needs some assistance when going to and from activities that are a long walking distance from our classroom and in the case of evacuations or drills. All of the students our classroom family are eager to help each other to stay safe and succeed.

My Project

In our classroom family, we have a specially abled friend. Due to the student’s ability, our classroom needs a wagon to safely transport this student in the case of a safety drill or evacuation. Our evacuation route requires walking a long night distance. We are required to cross a street and walk across a gravel driveway. This route is difficult for our classroom friend to walk safely and quickly. We also have activities that are long walking distance from our classroom. The distance required to reach some of our activities become physically trying for our friend. Our classroom is looking for help investing in a safe way to help our friend go to and from activities and safety drills.
