My Students

Many of my students have faced difficult life challenges, but still come to school with a smile and positive attitude. Each day, I greet them at our classroom door. I take this time to tell each child that I'm thankful for them coming to school and being a part of our classroom family. Starting each day on a positive note has really increased their enthusiasm for learning.

Their excitement for school is contagious.

This is the reason I wake up each morning and look forward to another awesome day with these exceptional kids.

My Project

Lockdowns are a topic of difficult discussion, but with recent events I feel it's necessary to open the forum. Intruders on any school campus are a possibility, and I want to be as prepared as possible.

As much as I love educating my students, their safety is even more important.

Our District has established lockdown procedures that are to ensure student safety. While I have faith in these procedures, I also want to take additional precautions. I prefer to be overprepared than underprepared. This defense tool, the Intruder Defense System, will provide that additional safety measure by helping to secure our doors.
