Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher of a class of 40 students, I always seek ways to engage and inspire them. Because I work in a low-income community where supplies are low, I'm reaching out to a larger community for support. I use stickers, small toys, and slime to help motivate my students and reward them for demonstrating expected school behaviors. However, purchasing enough of these supplies for an entire class of 40 students is expensive. That's why I am requesting donations to help fund the purchase of these excellent motivators. Any amount, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.
My students are incredibly creative and enjoy having autonomy in the classroom; therefore, I'd like to provide a stapler and tape dispenser exclusively for student use.
I will set up a section of my classroom for students to access supplies at their discretion to foster their independence and teach them personal responsibility. Also, stickers will be hung up in the classroom using a pocket chart. Students can choose a sticker for themselves when they act in ways that are aligned with school expectations.
