My Students
We have a large number of reluctant readers at our school. So finding books these kiddos will read is super important! They love Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Captain Underpants, Dogman and Mighty Robots. Unfortunately, our library copies have been read so many times they are really starting to show their age and can only be sent to the book hospital so many times; tape and glue only go so far.
Our students have literally, loved and read our books to pieces!
I have been in the process of updating our library over the last year with new titles and series, but these old favorites are still in demand and requested daily.
My Project
Funding this project will lead to improving our reluctant reader's fluency and literacy!
Due to budget cuts district-wide, I have been looking to friends, family, and other schools to donate what they can but it never seems to be enough.
Some of our non-fiction books are still on the shelves from when our school opened 20 years ago and need to be updated. This is where I have spent what money I have had to in order to mirror our teacher's lesson plans.
Still, students want fun books too, and I can't wait to get these favorites back on the shelves! Thank you so much for your consideration.
