Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

TAll students need a boost of self-esteem. The "Student of the Month" assemblies recognize students for displaying various types of character. This is a special day for the students honored, but it is also a time when other students reflect on their own character and try harder next month. Each month, every classroom teacher identifies a student who exemplifies our positive behavior expectations and acts as a role model for their classmates. The selected students from each class and their families are invited to join the school for an assembly during which we celebrate their contributions to their classrooms.

These incentives may seem a minimal token for a students' hard work in the classroom, but it is the feelings from that day that remain with the student and pushes that student to continue in the future to strive for another "Student of the Month" award.
