Student News Show Hits the Road!

My Project

This past fall, we started HMS's first ever student-run News Show! The show is entirely student run. They are the reporters, the directors, the script writers, and the video editors. Every morning, these dedicated students arrive to school a full hour before classes start to film the show. Each day, homeroom classes tune in to find out the latest news from around the school. It has greatly improved our school's communication about events from sports to tutoring to parents' nights!

If my students had this small, easy to use camera, they could take their show on their road, filming interviews and reporting from any location at our school!

Right now, we can only film in our media center because the camera we have is very bulky and not realistic for transporting around school. The camera we are requesting in this project is compact, but takes great quality videos, and better yet, the interface is easy for students to learn and use. My students would love to record weather segments outside, sports updates from the fields, and show off student showcases from the hallways!
