Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Having the opportunity to create an elective course that is engaging and relatable to the culture of my building has been a blessing. I am able to shape, mold, and help students find their confidence in front and behind the camera. With support from the administration, I was able to birth the "Lumberjack 5!" This is where we create news content in reference to what's going on nationally as well as what's currently going on in our building.

We do not have the proper equipment, so we rely on the use of my cellphone in order to record/edit/publish episodes.

We have gained much momentum and positive feedback to the point where the student body and staff look forward to our monthly episodes. We are in desperate need of equipment to successfully record and edit so we can put out quality content/material. I appreciate any and all help that the Lumberjack 5 can get!
