Help me give my students fresh supplies. We are in a school where many students are not able to bring in their own pencils, markers, paper, and other things. This cart would allow them to have new necessities!
These basic supplies are truly things that all students need and should be offered. In a low-income school system, it is rare that these items are supplied by the school or able to be brought by students. As a teacher, sometimes it is a struggle to supply their basic necessities for the classroom, but it is such a special thing to see how much joy that new colored pencils and markers can bring. My students are overjoyed and grateful for these things. New pencils and supplies can really give a student confidence and put a pep in their step in the classroom.
My main goal in this project is to supply the basic things in my classroom that my high schoolers need so that we can have the learning environment that they deserve.
I work to make Spanish come to life in my classroom and to do that, it’s immensely important that my students have access to these things.
My high schoolers are the light of my life. They bring me joy and work immensely hard to be recognized as people who are caring and kind. Most of them live in homes that do not represent the “American dream” and come from divorced, struggling families. Many of my students work part-time jobs to help pay the bills. They are eager to learn, to help, to understand, and to go out and make a better life for themselves. It is normal to hear that the upcoming generation is doomed; but as a high school teacher, if I could share my classes with the world, the world would be a better place.
