Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a diverse group of 22 first and second grade students at a Title I school.

I love how my students are always eager to learn.

They are so inquisitive and creative. I appreciate how hard they try with what ever they do.

They are a very special group. My students are extremely resilient. They work hard and always go into things with a growth mindset. I love how close knit my class is. We focus a lot on building a classroom community and developing good relationships. They are extremely kind and value and respect each other.

My Project

These materials would be extremely helpful in our classroom. My students would greatly benefit from colored folders to organize their materials and assignments. We like to use different colored folders for each subject area. The labels would be used to label each folder for the students to keep them organized and so they will recognize each subject area and be able to quickly find their papers and materials.

The dry erase clipboards would be an excellent tool for my students.

They can use it as a hard surface when writing and can even use it to bring their work and write outside. I love how this item can also double as a whiteboard. Students can use it to work out problems for math. I can also utilize it as a quick check and have students write on it and hold up their answers. Each student having their own personal whiteboard marker would be beneficial for this reason.

I also need an iPad stand to help me with my teaching. I currently no longer have a doc cam or projector. Our school utilizes AppleTV, so I use my iPad to airplay and act as a document camera. Right now I have to be creative and use a stack of books or a small container to elevate my iPad. It does take time to set up, and sometimes my iPad falls down.
