I'm a new 4th grade teacher in rural Maine. I graduated this spring and am excited to bring my knowledge and practices to the classroom.
My students love learning and I hope that I can give them all the necessary tools they need to be successful this year, especially if we have to practice distance learning.
My small school has about 200 children. More than half of the students at my school come from low-income households.
My classroom consists of 12 students of differing reading skills and learning abilities. I'm extremely excited to get back into the classroom with my students, especially after their long break.
My Project
I am asking for different magazine subscriptions for my students. Because of COVID, my school is teaching in a Hybrid Model so students are only at school for 4 hours a day, 2 days a week. With the shortened amount of in-person time, my students are missing out in Science & Social Studies. I would love to provide them with more student magazine subscriptions to enhance their learning! They would also be able to take these magazines home with them on remote learning days to continue their reading and learning.
