Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During the Covid pandemic, the district purchased laptops for every single student in the district in order to implement virtual learning. These laptops have been used for the past few years and have now been recycled to our incoming freshmen. As expected, the laptops have been aged and are worn due to everyday use for the past four years.

As a magnet high school focused on information technology, it is imperative that as teachers we incorporate technology in the classroom - unfortunately, many of my students' laptops are in poor condition or broken due to the natural aging process of technology.

With this project, I will be able to keep three loaner laptops in my classroom for students to borrow if their school-issued laptop is not working properly. This will allow students to keep up with their classwork and make the assignments and activities more easily accessible as many of them who do not have a working laptop currently use their phones.
