This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
About My Students
Julie and Sierra are leading a group of students in this project that connects community and our school while exposing students to a valuable lifetime experiences. Julie and Sierra are leaders by example, demonstrating leadership , commitment , determination and great technology skill sets. They have the ability to communicate the projects needs to all involved, the community, staff, students and media. Julie and Sierra are very excited to get the necessary tools that will allow better marketing and data management.
Students will be able to utilize these supplies, laptop and gift cards to collect data, create, research, plan and while working through dinner.
Students will be researching data related to their Veterinarian in training program and apply research data to see if the program had an impact on the rate of reported euthanized pets and homeless pets within our city. They will also compare results to similar demographics and analyze the comparison and come up with a conclusion.
All skills enhanced will help them with college and career, while developing plans for their city that will improve climate and culture.
In Their Own Words
We have been working very hard to improve the conditions of the pet overpopulation within our city. this project will allow us the opportunity to closely look at the data and compare numbers, from over the last several years, to see if our program has made a difference within our city with community pets.
We will be empowered to create a plan for displaying, collecting, analyzing and summarizing the data from our research. We will also have to communicate results. We will be working alongside underclassman and be their mentor in this project. All these skills will empower and prepare us to be leaders in college and career.
This project results will allow us to present data to supporters of our Veterinarian in Training program, so we can still receive donations to continue with the program. This program gives back to our community and creates a better living environment for people and their pets. This project will also benefit future students that will attend our school.
