Help me give my students a new BenQ Short Throw computer projector that will allow them to air play from their I-pads direct to the whiteboard to help each other learn the challenging mathematical concepts that they study.
Our school is a STEM focused charter school in Sandy, Utah. We use Evidence Based Instructional Strategies (EBIS) to collaboratively teach and prepare students across the curriculum for life in the twenty-first century.
Our school sees the need for technology-based instruction, as we know our world to be technology based.
While pencil and paper are still useful in a math class, technology is also a must.
We strive to offer students an education that spans Apple, Microsoft, Android, and other systems. Students learn to write software (coding), use OfficeSuite and have even developed medical technologies and video games.
My Project
With a new projector more students in my blended classes will be able to project their work onto a whiteboard to share with partners. They will work cooperatively to develop skills that will carry into everything that they do in life, but for now high school math.
Students will work in teams to solve problems, master concepts, and critique each others reasoning in doing so.
They will lead the discussions and be able to project and present their findings to their classmates.
By problem solving in this way students will not only gain math knowledge, but also leadership skills and the ability to work well along side others.
