It is exciting to see the students come together to assist residents of their community by supplying free pet food, educating the public on proper pet care and assist with resources that helps their pet. Everything they convey is learned from lessons in class.
This idea generated from our Humane Education unit that is part of our curriculum. They wanted to assist families in keeping their pets with them when supplies may be a financial burden. In order to better assist, they need to develop a data base of family/resident information on the Surface Pro 4. By compiling information, they can develop a mailing/email bank to inform residents of distribution dates.
Students will learn to communicate with people, learn to convey needs to donors and solicit for funds to help with project. Students will be able to develop PowerPoints that will solicit community leaders to assist and create presentations to inform and recruit new students to attend our school. They will better understand the business end of supply and demand.
I am the president of this project. My name is Aneesha. I want to be a veterinarian. This project prepares me by experiencing situations associated with my career choice. This project will expose students to veterinarian sciences, assist families with financial burdens by supplying free pet food, assisting with low cost services. By getting a Surface Pro 4, we will be able to collect data/information, create flyers, PowerPoints and research new innovative ideas, maintain a web site.
Our teacher will make suggestions to our team of leaders. We will be able to discuss and make choices. Our teacher will mentor us on how to develop PowerPoints and flyers on the Surface Pro 4. She will also help develop Excel spread sheets that we will maintain. Our teacher will also introduce us to many donors that will assist. We will have to communicate our needs to them and organize deliveries of foods, once a relationship with donors is established.
This projects keeps families from surrendering their family pet to the shelter, because they could not afford pet food. This frees up space at the shelter and saves pets from being euthanized. This is an opportunity to give back to our community and better prepare us for the future. The Surface Pro 4 will be the tool that opens our world to technology and how that will impact our project for the better.
