My students need sets of small group reading books that will grab their attention and get them excited about reading! These books will be perfect for the student-led book clubs in my class!
I teach 25 of the most magical little 4th graders you could imagine. They are kind, passionate, creative, and curious. Each and every day, they inspire me to be a better teacher.
I have a wide range of students from gifted learners to students with special needs.
No matter what challenges they face, my students come to school each and every day with smiles on their faces.
We love to have fun, get messy, and let our imaginations run wild! I hope this year I will be able to transform my students into lifelong readers.
My Project
This year, my 4th graders will be leading and participating in their own book clubs! We need some small group sets of books that are new and exciting so that they will get to experience wonderful new stories together for the first time. The students will set their own reading schedule and come up with their own discussion questions. This will allow for higher-level thinking, creativity, and leadership opportunities.
My students will be setting a personalized reading goal for the year that challenges them to read books from a variety of genres.
The books I selected include mysteries, fantasies, realistic fiction, historical fiction, and even science fiction! These books will help them to meet their goal.
This project will benefit my classroom and beyond. I will be more than willing to lend out book sets to other 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms. Sharing is caring! This will spread a love for reading around the whole school. With some amazing new novels along with some classic favorites, these small group reading sets are sure to inspire the next generation of readers!
