Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I advise the school newspaper, which we started last spring in our journalism class. My school is a new small college prep school in New York.
We started the school newspaper last year on a shoestring budget. We still have a print edition, but need to adapt to the changing news landscape by going online.
The digital audio recorders will allow student journalists to record interviews for writing news articles. They'll also allow us to make podcasts for the online edition of our newspaper.
Through your support, you'll be helping my students learn writing skills and allow them to use current technology. You are helping them build a vibrant community in our school. And most importantly, you are getting them to participate in an important part of our democracy: freedom of the press.
