This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Usually when I do a DonorsChoose project, I choose books based on the topics covered in the fourth-grade curriculum. However, this time I gave the children a survey to see what topics they wanted in the library. Unsurprisingly, many wanted to learn more about their favorite animal. In addition, the overwhelming choice were books by author Elise Gravel. She writes about insects and other animals with engaging illustrations that my students just love.
My students love reading. They are reading so much that I have a hard time keeping up with them. I am running out of books at a more advanced level. Many of these books will help me get books in the hands of all my students.
