Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our seventh grade science classroom is a place of challenge, discovery, and enthusiasm. My young scientists come from a low-income/high-poverty neighborhood, but their smiles and determination in the classroom every day is nearly unfailing. They have an amazing desire for education and they work hard to build each other up and do their best. This year we'll learn how to think about science, not what to think, and I know this new curriculum will benefit my students for the rest of their lives.
My Project
My students need physics force kits for inquiry-based exploration of forces and motion as part of the new SEEd standards. These kits are vital to our exploration of forces and motion in the classroom. Our new SEEd standards make sure that my young scientists get to explore the physical sciences through inquiry and exploration, and these kits will assist them in getting to that stage.
Physics is one of my favorite sciences to teach, because its real world applications make for great hands on learning.
I cannot wait to see my students explore the interactions between carts, make observations about forces, and ask amazing questions regarding physics in our every day life. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to bring STEM learning into the classroom.
