My Project

I LOVE my school and I LOVE my students even more! They remind me a lot of myself when I was a student. Coming from a not-so-well-off family, my parents were not able to afford much - including basic school supplies. The majority of my students are from low-income families, BUT that doesn't stop them from learning!

It breaks my heart when I see students come back to school without any supplies to work with.

At the beginning of every year, I would pass out the supply list - of really basic supplies like a binder, pencils, markers, etc. Some would be using the same composition book for all of their classes; some would borrow a pencil every day (not to mention colored pencils, markers, loose-leaf, etc. that we would use on a regular basis).

I am fortunate to get Teacher's Choice fund (hopefully that is not cut this year) to buy some supplies for them, but I need help. I want to set up a supply station at the back of my room, where students can freely take what they need to work and learn - AND NOT HAVE TO ASK OR FEEL EMBARRASSED.
