Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are currently working on accumulating community service hours as part of the service learning projects. Since the initiative for the month is fighting hunger, they have come up with the idea of having a classroom pantry.
Service learning projects, such as fighting hunger, teaches students leadership and generosity.
It is imperative that we teach our children how to be contributing members of society and to give back to the community. This project not only will fight hunger, but it will also teach students to take ownership for the solution to this problem.
