Student Desks for Success

Help me give my students a desk to help them focus, organize their belongings, give them their own personal space, and help support their individual learning styles.

My Project

I am requesting individual student desks because at this time, I have double desks, which students share with a classmate. Since I work with multiple grade levels and have students with varying needs, many have a hard time with personal space and will encroach onto their classmate's side of the desk. Some students are a little bigger than others and having to share a desk can be uncomfortable for both students. They also tend to lose focus because of the close proximity to their classmate. Having individual student desks will help support my students increase their focus and ensure they feel safe in their personal space.

These individual student desks will also help support students do better on their class work and assessments.

Since I work with English Learners in grades kindergarten-sixth grade, they have to take the WIDA ACCESS test annually, which measures their reading, writing, speaking, and listening proficiency. Having individual students desks will allow students to feel more comfortable as they do not have to share a desk with a classmate.
