My Project

Our Student Designed Classroom

Welcome to our student designed classroom, where around 56 students in 7th and 8th grade come to get their Math and Science instruction daily!

With your support, we aim to transform our space into a place where students feel a strong sense of belonging and take pride in their learning environment.

Our main goal is to introduce flexible seating options and elements in the classroom that the students expressed a need for at the end of the school year last year.

Flexible seating means having comfortable chairs and cushions that allow students to choose their preferred seating arrangements. This will make learning more enjoyable and cater to individual learning styles. Additionally, having proper materials, like pencils, whiteboards, and a handy vacuum, will help us keep our classroom organized, free from distractions, and clean. Ensuring a tidy and clutter-free environment can create a space that promotes better focus and engagement during lessons.

Our project isn't just about acquiring new furniture and materials; it's also about instilling a sense of responsibility and ownership among our students. Through open discussions and collaborative efforts, we will develop classroom guidelines for cleanliness and maintenance. By involving students in the decision-making process, they will feel a stronger connection to their learning space and take pride in keeping it clean and organized. Learning to care for our environment also teaches valuable life skills like organization and teamwork, which will benefit students beyond the classroom setting.

There are numerous benefits to improving our classroom culture and environment. When students have the freedom to choose their seating and actively participate in maintaining their space, they feel more included and valued. A clean and organized environment also contributes to students' emotional well-being, reducing stress and creating a positive atmosphere for
