This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Student Council Association (SCA) is filled with 25 2nd-5th grade leaders. They love to plan activities for our school, help others, and find ways to serve the community. Making blankets for babies and families in need in our community is our next project.
SCA members will meet before school to assemble 10 no-sew blankets to give away to those in need.
We will attach a new board book to each blanket, so families will have something to read to their child. Since we are a bilingual community, we have chosen several bilingual books to give to families.
This project will allow SCA students to serve their community while participating in a hands-on, bonding activity.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
