This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Student centered classrooms must include showcasing, highlighting and peer reviewing student work! Right now student work has no immediate way of being showcased unless it is walked around the room.

My students are an inquisitive bunch that tremendously enjoy collaboration!

My students also hail from all around the city from various socioeconomic backgrounds and english language proficiency levels. They attend an expeditionary learning school that prides itself on rigor and positive core values.

My Project

The ELMO visual presenter is a piece of technology that works like a camera to directly display whatever is put in front of it through a projector. The ELMO visual presenter will enable students to easily showcase their work between one another. The ELMO visual presenter will maximize class time and decrease distractions and waiting times while students are rewriting their work on the board or figuring out some other way to showcase it. This will enable my classroom and the 8th grade math classroom to be much more student centered and productive.

This donation will make a tremendous difference in the lives of future inner city mathematicians, scientists and engineers!

The ELMO visual presenter will be used for many more school years to come!
