Student Centered Makerspace Expansion

Help me give my students supplies and storage for their Makerspace materials. The ZipSnip will make cutting through cardboard a breeze for students. The tripod will make it so students can make stable videos with the green screen.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school in Upstate New York. My students are in Pre-K to Fifth Grade and are always eager to learn and explore. I am privileged to teach these 400 students in the library where we use inquiry and many hands-on activities to learn.

My students are very active and love hands-on STEAM activities.

I enjoy facilitating and watching my students explore, learn, and grow through various projects we complete. They have engineered new chairs for baby bear, used coding to solve mazes, worked in teams to BreakOut of the Library, and researched States or Countries to create a unique flag to represent their chosen State or Country.

My Project

These materials will help keep our Makerspace open to the students. The storage boxes will help organize current makerspace items. The yarn and 3D filament will help replenish some of the students favorite Makerspace materials. The tripod will help students create videos by themselves with our green screen. They will be able to create book talks, create stories, or other video projects without having to hold the camera in their hand.

Students are learning valuable skills while staying highly engaged with our various Makerspace projects.

Please help me continue to engage students in projects that build their problem solving and collaboration skills.
