Student-Centered Magic Carpet

My students need a new classroom carpet to have enough room to maximize their learning and collaborate during whole group instructional time.

My Students

I have the privilege of teaching 19 amazing, smart, and talented young individuals daily. My students come to school every day ready to learn and overcome challenging tasks. My students range from all ability levels. They are energetic, respectful, and always willing to lend a helping hand to a classmate. My school has over 500 students that range from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.

My students love to read, love to move, and love to cheer each other on!

My Project

My students value from whole group instruction, partner conversations, and routine sitting in the classroom. This gives my students the opportunity to have their own personal space on the carpet when they are working extremely hard to learn new information. With our current round carpet my students are sitting knee to knee with no room in between each other.

This rectangle colorful carpet will provide personal space and community interaction!

With this student-centered magic carpet it will allow my students the opportunity to not only help with their academic growth, but it will help improve their social interaction with others.
