Student-Centered Learning and Explicit Teaching With A Document Camera
My students need a document camera so they can spontaneously and easily share their work and make discoveries to enhance their learning experience while creating a collaborative, fun and engaging learning environment.

My Students
My students are special because they are diverse learners. Many of us are familiar with three general categories in which people learn: visual learners, auditory learners, and kinesthetic learners. Beyond these three general categories, many theories of and approaches toward human potential have been developed.
Among them is the theory of multiple intelligences, developed by Howard Gardner, Ph.D., Professor of Education at Harvard University.
I believe that all children should be exposed to materials and experiences that foster their strengths and develops their weaknesses.
My students are all unique: some are auditory learners, some bodily-kinesthetic, some are naturalists, many are visual learners. Intelligence is not one dimensional. There are so many ways that we are intelligent.
My Project
A document camera is the best tool to use in teaching all subjects. The Elmo Document Camera I am requesting will allow for explicit teaching and modeling using my work, as well as mentor texts. Students love to see that their teacher has done the same work they have.
A document camera allows the teacher to explicitly show her students ways to revise and edit their work through modeling.
It can also be used in an extremely motivating way when a student shares their work. Additionally, with the camera’s clear picture and zooming capabilities, students can investigate objects in nature and all around in a new and exciting way. I believe that we can learn in an innovative and lasting way when we all have a chance to partake in the learning journey.
