Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students hold a special place in my heart as an emotional support teacher working with children in grades K-2, each facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges. Despite their struggles, they exhibit remarkable resilience and an eagerness to learn. What sets them apart is their ability to persevere in the face of adversity, teaching everyone valuable lessons in empathy and compassion every day. With this project, I aim to establish a student care closet, ensuring that the students have access to essential items like face wipes, combs, brushes, hair ties, underwear, socks, snacks, juice, water, and breakfast foods. These basic necessities go beyond mere provisions; they represent a foundation of dignity and support for the students, fostering a sense of security and belonging in our classroom family. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where the students feel valued and empowered to focus on their learning and personal growth. Through this initiative, I strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of our remarkable students, providing them with the resources they need to thrive academically and emotionally.
