Help me give my students the opportunity to learn how to play the ukulele and make some music with their friends.

My Students
I teach music in a K-5 Title I elementary school. My goal is to create a classroom where students can have fun and develop a love and lifelong interest in music. My new school has limited supplies and would really benefit from a set of ukuleles. As a guitar and ukulele myself, I know how much fun it is to sing and play music with your peers and how music can build a sense of community and belonging. Having enough ukuleles so that each child can have one to play during class will give every child a hands on opportunity to create music and actually play a musical instrument.
My Project
My students really love it when I accompany their songs with my guitar or ukulele. They often ask to play my instruments, but since I don't have enough for everyone, I can't teach them how to play. With a classroom set of ukuleles, every student will get an opportunity to play. They will be able to accompany their own music and learn about chord progressions. My goal is to create lifelong musicians and the ukulele is an easy instrument to learn how to play, it's portable, and I hope it will be something they will continue to do all of their lives.
