My Students
When most people go to work, they are greeted by a computer, a register, or a telephone. I get greeted by tiny, smiling faces that are eager to learn. These amazing students are the reason I gladly stay till five at night, come in on the weekends, and toss and turn at night thinking about their successes and areas of improvement.
There is growing scientific evidence that shows students' environments greatly impact their ability to learn and their test scores.
My goal, through supporters like you, is to create a classroom environment and provide supplies, tech, furniture, and more that help students thrive to the best of their ability. My students are kind, giving, happy, and dedicated to their education.
They have pride in who they are, how hard they work at school, and the bond we have made. At my school, more than half of our students are economically disadvantaged, and nearly 25% of our school qualifies for special education services Thank you for considering donating to our school family!
My Project
I am asking for an array of prizes for my many students, grades K - 5th, to encourage them to work hard in reading groups. The groups of students I work with are far below grade level in reading and like we all have areas of growth, this is there's. With that comes frustration at times but prize incentives have motivated them to work hard and show serious improvement.
The data has shown that when students are pulled for specialized reading practice their scores are significantly higher, however, students need an incentive to leave their classroom.
When students know that they are working hard to not only earn a fun prize but also become better readers they put forth their best effort. Thank you for considering our NDES family.
More than half of students from low‑income households
