Struggling Readers Can Fly High With UFLI!

My Project

UFLI Foundations is an explicit and systematic phonics program that introduces students to the foundational reading skills necessary for proficient reading. This manual is used to support up-to-date teaching based on the science of reading. I want the best for my students, especially those who are struggling to learn how to read.

By having this book, I will have access to phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word lessons, and so much more.

UFLI Foundations follows a carefully developed scope and sequence designed to ensure that students systematically acquire each skill needed and learn to apply each skill with automaticity and confidence.

According to Dr. Martin Kozloff, "When a child memorizes ten words, they can only read ten words; but if a child learns the sounds of ten letters, they will be able to read: 350 three-sound words, 4,320 four-sound words, and 21,650 five-sound words." By explicitly teaching phonics, my intervention students will become more fluent and proficient readers.
