Struggle in School Picture Books for Kids

Help me give my students a variety of books that will help them feel seen and understood with books that discuss mental struggles, divorce, emotions, financial struggles, healthy friendships, poverty, being unhoused, and other trauma.

My Project

Being a teacher in my school is such a joy! Students in my room are full of different colors, voices, and backgrounds. By providing these learners with books that speak directly to them, they will feel seen and become strong readers connected to books and authors.

My goal for this project is to provide my diverse class with resources that will help them connect with literacy in a way that helps them feel understood.

These books will help them cope with different trauma that they may have experienced, or that can help them relate to or understand their peers.
