Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an incredible group of kindergarteners who have so much potential. Each and every one of my students have gained a place in my heart. They are such kindhearted, noble, and passionate individuals who attend a STEAM academy elementary school located in a high-need community.
Every day my students walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them.
These kids spend long hours at school every day and yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.
My Project
Every day, my students have a reading block where they spend their time working in reading-based centers. These centers are meant to be a fun and exciting way to help them learn and grow as readers.
With the addition of these centers, my students will be able to work on building their foundational reading skills, such as rhyming, identifying letter sounds, and recognizing sight words.
This hands-on way of learning to read, write, and identify rhyming and sight words will lead to a much more authentic way of learning and shape my students into becoming stronger and more independent readers!
